Let Go Of The Past…

There is nothing worse than living your life in the past. Regrets and grudges come straight out of the enemy’s play book and the only person that ever suffers is you.

A few years ago I had a bitter argument with a friend over a business transaction that basically ended our friendship. To give you a basic idea of what happened I went into partnership with two people, who I trusted, with a project I had come up with. My friend didn’t think it was a very good idea and voiced his opinion to me. The result was a diffence of views which none of us would bow down to and a nasty argument that pushed us in to seperate ways.

After the argument, the argument played over and over in my head, convincing me that I was right and my friend was out of order. I hung on to these thoughts for months which only built a hatred for my ‘once’ friend. We eventually did make up but even after that, it was never the same. Purely because I couldn’t let it go.

How sad, a great friendship was destroyed by a regret and a grudge. As I keep saying I am not perfect by any means but if you do find yourself in a similar situation, consider this passage from the bible: Ephesians 4:31-32 You must put away all bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and slanderous talk—indeed all malice. Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.
